Camden Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning technician preparing professional equipment for a UK service appointmentThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Camden Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial cleaning services in the United Kingdom. By making a booking, confirming a quotation, or allowing our technicians to begin work, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order. For the purposes of this document, the expressions “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Camden Carpet Cleaners, and “you” or “the customer” refer to the person requesting the service.

These conditions are intended to be fair, transparent, and consistent with UK consumer law. They apply to all carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stain treatment, and related services supplied by Camden Carpet Cleaning or any similar variant of that name used in our service communications. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under applicable law. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

By booking a service, you confirm that you are authorised to enter into this agreement and, where relevant, that you have permission from the property owner, landlord, managing agent, or other appropriate party to arrange the work. You also confirm that the surfaces and items to be cleaned are suitable for the requested treatment, and that any special concerns have been disclosed before the appointment. 1. Booking Process

All bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until we have accepted the request and, where required, received any deposit or pre-authorisation. A booking may be made by telephone, email, online form, or through any other method we make available from time to time. Once a request is received, we may ask for details including the property type, room sizes, fabric type, access arrangements, parking conditions, and any particular stains or damage.

We will normally provide an estimated quotation based on the information supplied. An estimate is not a fixed price unless we expressly state otherwise. The final charge may differ if the actual condition, quantity, area, or complexity of the work differs from the details originally provided. For example, a standard carpet cleaning service may require additional time where the carpet is heavily soiled, stained, damp, or fitted with delicate fibres that need specialist treatment. We reserve the right to revise the quotation before commencing work if the true scope of the job is materially different from the description given at booking.

Before the appointment date, you are responsible for ensuring reasonable access to the premises, moving fragile items where appropriate, and advising us of any restrictions, hazards, or special requirements. This includes the presence of pets, vulnerable occupants, hidden damage, adverse parking constraints, or security procedures. Professional carpet cleaning process in a residential propertyIf our technicians are unable to access the property, or are prevented from starting work due to circumstances within your control, we may charge a call-out fee, waiting time, or a cancellation fee in accordance with these terms.

2. Service Standards and Customer Responsibilities

We aim to provide a professional Camden carpet cleaning service using suitable equipment, trained staff, and cleaning methods appropriate to the surface being treated. However, results may vary depending on fibre type, age, wear, pre-existing damage, prior cleaning attempts, and the nature of the soiling. Some marks, including permanent staining, dye transfer, burn marks, and fibre distortion, may not be fully removable even with specialist treatment. Where we identify limitations before or during the job, we will explain them as clearly as possible.

You agree to disclose any known risks before work begins, including colour bleed, unstable seams, loose flooring, pre-existing tears, water sensitivity, moth damage, or hidden underlay issues. Where you instruct us to proceed despite such risks, you do so at your own discretion and responsibility, except where the law does not allow liability to be excluded. We may refuse to carry out work that, in our reasonable opinion, is unsafe, unsuitable, or likely to cause disproportionate damage.

In the course of providing a carpet cleaner Camden service, we may need to move light furniture where this is reasonably practical. Heavy, fragile, built-in, wall-mounted, or high-value items are not moved unless we expressly agree to do so. You remain responsible for removing valuables, ornaments, loose electrical items, and other possessions from the working area before our arrival. We are not liable for damage to items left in positions that make them vulnerable to accidental contact during normal cleaning operations.

3. Payments and Charges

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the service. We may require a deposit, full prepayment, or card pre-authorisation for certain bookings, particularly where work is time-sensitive, high value, or arranged at short notice. Accepted payment methods may include cash, bank transfer, debit card, credit card, or other methods specified at the time of booking. Where an invoice is issued, payment must be made within the period stated on that invoice.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and may be stated inclusive or exclusive of VAT depending on our registration status and the wording of the quotation. If VAT applies, it will be added at the prevailing rate. Additional charges may arise where the customer requests extra work, where the initial description was incomplete or inaccurate, or where unexpected conditions require extra labour, materials, or equipment. Such charges will be explained as far as reasonably practicable before being incurred.

Late payment may result in an administration fee, recovery costs, or interest where permitted by law and where such measures are clearly communicated to you in advance. We reserve the right to withhold future services, suspend credit arrangements, or refer unpaid balances for collection where payment remains outstanding. This does not affect any right you may have to dispute an invoice in good faith, provided you notify us promptly and with reasonable detail.

4. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving us reasonable notice. The notice period required may vary depending on the size and nature of the job, but as a general rule we expect at least 24 hours’ notice for standard appointments. Short-notice cancellations may incur a fee to cover time reserved, staff allocation, travel planning, and any materials prepared specifically for your job. Where a deposit has been paid, all or part of it may be retained to reflect our losses.

If you ask us to attend but no one is present to grant access, or the property is otherwise unavailable for the booked service, this may be treated as a no-show and charged accordingly. We may also cancel or postpone a booking if conditions at the property are materially different from those disclosed, if it would be unsafe to proceed, or if adverse weather, transport disruption, staff illness, or equipment failure makes attendance impractical. In such cases, we will seek to rearrange the service within a reasonable time.

If we need to cancel or reschedule, we will aim to notify you promptly and offer an alternative appointment. Where we cancel and cannot offer a suitable alternative within a reasonable period, any advance payment relating to the cancelled service will usually be refunded. This refund will not include compensation for indirect losses, unless such compensation is required by law. Service terms document with carpet cleaning compliance and liability sectionsNothing in this clause limits your rights where cancellation is caused by our negligence or other breach of contract.

5. Liability and Limitations

We will perform our services with reasonable skill and care. If we fail to do so, and this causes you direct loss or damage, we may be liable subject to the limitations set out in these Terms and Conditions and to the extent permitted by law. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.

Our liability for loss or damage to property arising from our work will generally be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, taking into account the age, condition, and fair market value of the affected item. We will not be liable for indirect, consequential, or purely financial losses such as loss of profit, loss of opportunity, business interruption, or inconvenience, except where such exclusion is prohibited by law. We also do not accept responsibility for pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, hidden defects, or faults that were not reasonably discoverable before the service.

Any claim for damage or dissatisfaction should be raised as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within a reasonable period after the service has been completed. You must give us the opportunity to inspect the issue, investigate the circumstances, and, where appropriate, attempt a remedy. Failure to notify us promptly may reduce the extent to which we can assess or resolve the matter. Where a complaint is justified, our preferred approach is to re-clean the affected area, provide a partial refund, or agree another fair solution.

6. Waste, Disposal, and Environmental Compliance

We operate in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations and environmental requirements. Any waste generated by our service, including used solution containers, disposable materials, recovered debris, or contaminated residues, will be handled responsibly and disposed of in a lawful manner. We aim to reduce unnecessary waste and to use cleaning processes that are proportionate to the task, while still achieving a professional standard of service.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, we do not remove household rubbish, bulky waste, hazardous materials, biohazards, asbestos, needles, chemical waste, or items requiring specialist disposal. If such items are encountered, we may stop work until the issue is resolved or may charge additional fees if lawful and appropriate to do so. You are responsible for informing us in advance of any condition or material that may require special handling or waste transfer arrangements.

Where our cleaning process creates wastewater, extracted residues, or other discharge, we will handle it in a way that is intended to protect drains, surfaces, and the environment, subject to the constraints of the property and the equipment used. You must ensure that our technicians can reasonably access water, power, and suitable disposal points unless alternative arrangements have been made. Final terms page for Camden Carpet Cleaners with legal and governing law notesAny contamination discovered on site that requires specialist environmental treatment must be disclosed immediately so that we can decide whether the service can safely continue.

7. Governing Law and General Provisions

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your jurisdiction will continue to apply where required by law, but the primary governing law of this agreement remains that stated above unless otherwise required.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer to bring proceedings in another competent forum. If any clause is found by a court or competent authority to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that clause shall be severed or modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder of the Terms and Conditions shall continue to apply.

No failure or delay by us in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that right or remedy. A waiver by us of any breach shall not be taken as a waiver of any later breach. These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect operational changes or legal requirements, and the version in force at the time of your booking will normally apply to your service unless otherwise agreed. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit any rights or remedies available to you under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or any other applicable UK legislation. Where a conflict arises between these terms and mandatory consumer law, the law will prevail. If you have requested a Camden carpet cleaning service, a carpet cleaner Camden visit, or another variant of our services, the booking will be treated as acceptance of these conditions to the extent permitted by law.

We recommend that customers keep a copy of the quotation, booking confirmation, and any relevant notes about condition, access, or special instructions. Clear communication before the appointment helps us deliver a better service and reduces the risk of misunderstanding. These terms are intended to support a professional working relationship and to ensure that both parties understand their responsibilities from booking through to completion.

If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not proceed with the booking request. These terms form the entire agreement between you and Camden Carpet Cleaners in relation to the relevant service, subject to any additional written terms expressly agreed in advance.
