Visit a Beautiful Royal Park – Regent's Park, NW1
Regent’s Park is among the Royal Parks of the capital. It is located in the northwest part of London. The park is split between the City of Westminster and the London Borough of Camden.
The park is surrounded by the Outer Circle ring road, which is 4.45 kilometres in length. There is also an inner ring road by the name of Inner Circle (1 kilometre). Twolink roads connect the two. Aside from that, the area is reserved for pedestrian access.
The area features nine villas. One of the most notable is the Marquess of Hertford’s Villa, which was rebuilt in the 1930s. Presently, it serves as residence for the American Ambassador. It is currently among the largest private gardens in the capital.
Regent’s Park also features the campus of Regent’s University London, previously occupied by Bedford College. The university occupies the site of the South Villa. This group of buildings makes for one of the two largest groups in the park.
London Zoo is another notable feature of Regent’s Park. It is regarded as the oldest scientific zoo in the world. It opened in 1828 to serve the purpose of scientific study, but later in 1847 it opened to the public.
